Programmes
Children’s programs are planned by each room’s staff to ensure the inclusion of play-based experiences for all areas of development to support the development of the whole child. Staff work together with families and children to create a program which provides meaningful experiences for all children.
Programs are displayed on notice boards in each room; this is changed weekly and
provides experiences for both group play and individual children. Programs are based on spontaneous and planned observations and developmental checklists made of the children. Our vision (philosophy) is displayed in each room and is consulted during the planning of the program. Observations and checklists cover all areas of development (social, emotional, language, cognitive, physical and creative) and are based around children’s interests, and an individual’s stage of development.
Staff ensure the programs in each room:
- foster the needs of the whole child
- reflect the vision of the centre
- reflect the needs of all children in groups and as individuals
- provides choices
- encourages respect for others
- leads to growth and learning
- supports the development of trusting relationships
Programs provide opportunities for:

Play is essential for young children’s development, free play allows children to make decisions and take ownership of their play, open-ended activities and experiences support growth and development and build solid foundations for later learning. Play provides opportunity for discovery, problem solving and learning about each other and themselves.
We provide a relaxed and happy environment where children feel safe and secure to play and interact with children and carers.
